District (Kreis) : Lippe (1972-1990 Detmold, until 1972 Lemgo)

Official blazon
In grün ein schwarzes Zahnrad, begleitet oben und unten von je einem silbernen Wellenbalken.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 1, 1921.
The arms indicate that Schötmar was an industrial centre (cogwheel) in the woods (green), with the two wavy bars symbolising the Werre and Bega rivers in the municipality.
