State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Grafschaft Bentheim
Official blazon
- (de) In Rot eine silberne schrägrechte Wellenleiste, oben nach der Figur begleitet von vier (3 : 1) goldenen Kugeln, unten pfahlweis von einer goldenen Korngarbe.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on ?
The arms show a wavy bend for the three waterways in the municipality: the Vechte, the Coevorden-Piccardie-Kanal and the Grenzaa. The three balls are taken from the arms of the Counts of Bentheim, to whom the area historically belonged. The four balls also refer to the four current municipalities and their medieval predecessors, the village councils of Emlichheim, Laarwald, Ringe and Scheerhorn.
The garb is a symbol for the agricultural character of the municipality.
The following municipalities belong to the Samtgemeinde Emlichheim:
- Emlichheim
- Hoogstede
- Laar
- Ringe
