German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

GOMPERTSHAUSEN

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Hildburghausen

Wappen von Gompertshausen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 1992.

The lion is taken from an old seal of the village from around 1840; its meaning or origin are not known. The base symbolises the local Weingartenberg (vineyard-mountain) as well as the historical importance of viticulture for the village until 1914.
