Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 14, 1964.

The arms are canting, showing a river (Bach) with fish (Fisch). The silver and blue colours are those of the Saarbrücken county and the counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken, to whom the village historically belonged. The black and green colours symbolise the coal mining and the forests in the municipality.
