Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted in 1963. The arms show elements for the two monasteries in Würzburg which had possessions in the area; the eagle is the symbol of St. John, the patron saint from the St. Johannes monastery, and the small shield is the arms of the St. Burkard abbey.
