Origin/meaning
The County Moers was a small county located in the present-day German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. It existed as an independent territory from 1160-1706 and from 1706-1796 as a principality, when it was incorporated in the French Empire. Capital was Moers.
The arms black bar in gold, the arms of the original House of Moers until 1578. Later rulers and users of the titles kept using these arms.
