Origin/meaning
The arms of the city show a wolf holding a lamb. This composition already appeared on the oldest known seal of the city, dating from 1442. The meaning is noit known, probably the wolf is a canting symbol (lupus is Latin for wolf).
The municipal stamp shown in 1892 |
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
