Origin/meaning

The arms are village arms and have been designed after the merger of the municipality into the city of Rüthen and adopted in 1992.

The wavy bend refers to the Pöppelsche river in the village. The two arrows are the symbol of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of the local chapel.
