The base shows 8 hills, one for each of the original 8 municipalities in the Amt. The wheat ear symbolises the importance of agriculture for the municipality. The linden leaf is a typical tree for the area. The eagle is the eagle of Brandenburg and is also part of the arms of the city of Biesenthal.
