Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1937.
The wall is taken from the arms of the historical Oberlausitz region. The tools symbolise the importance of mining, the deer antlers the forests and the many deer in these forests. The district was abolished in 1945 as the main part of the district became part of Poland.
