German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

HIMBERGEN

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Uelzen
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Bevensen-Ebstorf (until 2011 Samtgemeinde Bevensen)

Wappen von Himbergen/Arms of Himbergen
Official blazon
German

In Silber ein aufspringender schwarzer Hirschbock über einer roten heraldischen Rose mit grünen Butzen und grünen Kelch blättern

Origin/meaning

The rose is derived from the arms of the Lords of Todendorp, who had several estates in the area. The deer is a canting element for the old name of the village, Hinthbergen (Hinth=Hirsch=deer). However, a second explanation mentions that the arms and name are derived from a knight "Hindtberg". A third explanation for the name is "Hinter den Bergen" (behind the mountains).
