Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 25, 1994.
The silver castle is a canting element (Burg is castle). The castle was owned for many centuries by the Lords of Witzleben. The chevrons in the upper part of the arms are derived from the arms of the family, but with a blue instead of a red chevron. The base symbolises that the village is a well-known cold-water spa and resort.
Seal from around 1900 |
