Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 2, 1963.

The arms show a chequered bar of the Cistercian Fürstenfeld Abbey, which acquired the village from the Lords of Geggenpoint in 1306. The two scythes are the arms of the Lords of Gegenpoint.
