Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 7, 1995.

The bull's head is a symbol both for Mecklenburg as for the former Estate of Parchim, which became part of Mecklenburg in 1471. The two blue corners symbolise the Schweriner See and Plauer See lakes.
