Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 3, 1979.

The small shield shows the arms of the Lords of Lüchau, who ruled the village from the 14th until the 17th century. The family was succeeded by the Baum zu Baumsdorf family, who ruled the village until 1725. Their arms shows a knight in armour holding a staff of a commander. In the arms of the village only an armoured arm was added. The green colour (Grün) is a canting element in the arms.
