Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 3, 1982.
The label in the upper part is taken from the arms of the Schenk von Waldenberg family, vassals of the bishops of Speyer. The colours are those of the family as well as of the State of Speyer. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Anthony, the local patron saint. The knife is a knife used in forestry to remove bark from the trees. It is used as a canting symbol, as Schinden means to remove the bark.
The green colour refers to the forests and the -hard part of the name, which also means forest.
