Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and adopted in 1903.

The village was a possession of the Lords of Sundhausen, who sold it in 1477 to the Counts of Fürstenberg. The arms thus show the arms of Sundhausen within the typical bordure of the Fürstenberg arms.
