Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the town is mentioned in 1580, but it's composition is not known. The pine tree appears on the seal of the city from the 17^th century. The pine tree probably is taken from the Lichtentanne district (Tanne=pine tree), to which the town belonged at the time.
