State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Hildburghausen
Additions : 1993 Bad Colberg, Einöd, Gellershausen, Heldburg, Holzhausen, Lindenau, Völkershausen
German |
In Rot ein silberner Zinnenturm, an den ein goldener Löwe seine Pranken legt. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms are hose of Heldburg and are known since the 14th century. The meaning of the lion and the tower is not known. The lion is probably derived from the arms of the Counts of Thüringen, who ruled the city at the time.
