Im damaszierten schwarzen Feld ein goldenes Rutenbündel mit Beil als Symbol des Gerichts. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 26, 1838 by King Ludwig I of Bayern.
The town at the time applied for arms, based on the fact that the town had already a court in the 15th century. The town applied for a very complicated and non-heraldic composition, which was changed into the Roman symbol of justice. The arms have not changed, except that often the bands on the fasces were shown in red.
