English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 22, 1959.

The horse symbolises the importance of horse breeding in the district. The red panther was taken from the arms of the Counts of Ortenburg, who had one of their main estates in the Rottal area. In 1260 Duke Heinrich of Bayern acquired the estates and the panther was removed from the seal of the estate. The point shows the diamonds of Bayern, as ever since 1260 the area has belonged to Bayern.
