German Im grünen Schildhaupt ein silbernes Schwert mit goldenem Knauf, durchkreuzt von einer silbernen Axt mit goldenem Stiel. Darunter in Silber eine grüne Eiche mit goldenen Eicheln auf grünem Boden.

Origin/meaning

The oak points to the numerous forests on the ridge surrounding Tostedt, called "Tot". The ax points to the historical logging in the "Tot" area. As early as 1625, the sword symbolized Tostedt as the seat of local jurisdiction.
