Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 1, 1970.
The area was until the end of the 18th century a possession of the Abbey of Weissenburg, and the lower half shows the arms of the Abbey. The upper half shows the arms of the oldest known lords of the area and predecessors of the abbey, the Lords of Fleckenstein.
