Official blazon
German In Silber ein sitzender, gekrönter, roter Adler, randumlaufend ist ein Laubkranz dargestellt.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the seals of the city. The eagle is the eagle of Brandenburg, as the city was founded in 1604 by Prince Joachim Friedrich von Brandenburg.

During DDR times the arms were replaced by a deer in a forest, indicating the Schorfheide natural region.
