TÖMMELSDORF

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Saale-Orla Kreis

Wappen von Tömmelsdorf/Arms (crest) of Tömmelsdorf
Official blazon
German

Geteilt von Blau über Silber; oben ein goldener Pflug; unten ein linksblickender blauer Karpfen.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1996.

The upper part shows a plough, for the agricultural character for the municipality. The base shows a carp, as already for many centuries fish farming plays a role in the local economy. This started in medieval times to provide fish for the monks in the local monasteries.
