In Rot ein gerüsteter goldener Reiter auf silbernem Pferd, eine Lanze in den Rachen eines grünen Lindwurms stoßend.
Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the city, dating from 1610. The arms show St. George, the patron saint of the Benedictan Abbey in Bürgel and indicate the close relations between the monastery and the city.
