German |
Von Silber und Rot geteilt; oben zwei gekreuzte rote Lilienstäbe; unten drei, 2:1 gestellte, goldgekrönte silberne Adlerköpfe. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 19, 1981
The arms combine elements from the arms of two families that ruled the village. The lower half shows the three eagle heads of the Sheriffs of Panau, who ruled the village from 1378-1403. The upper half is the arms of their successors, the Munt family, who ruled until 1555.
Both arms can also be seen on grave stones in the village.
