Official blazon

In Rot zwei voneinander abgekehrte, aufrechte silberne Steinbockshörner.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1931.

In 1931 the local council applied to the State Archives for the use of the arms seen on the seal of Heinricus de Herlanshowen from 1273. As no colours were knows the State Archives proposed the above arms with the two ibex horns in arbitrarily chosen colours. The council adpoted this design and used the arms until 1972.
