State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Diepholz
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Siedenburg

Wappen von Mellinghausen/Arms (crest) of Mellinghausen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The church is the local church, which was the main parish in the region in historical times. The trefoil is a symbol of agriculture, but the symbol was also used in the arms of the medieval Lords of Siedenburg. The base shows the bear claws of the Counts of Hoya, as the area historically was part of the County Hoya.
