Wappen von Leinfelden/Arms (crest) of Leinfelden
Official blazon
German In Gold ein blaues Hufeisen mit goldenen Nägeln.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1956 and again in 1957.

In 1956 the horse-shoe was shown as black on a white shield. As these arms were similar to other arms in the region, the colours were changed in 1957. The city was an agricultural village of little importance until the Second World War. The village thus did not have its own arms or seals. The horse-shoe was sometimes used as a village sign, for example on the door of the village hall in 1587. Also later the horse-shoe was supposed to be the local arms, but there are no documents on which arms with the horse-shoe were actually used.
