VAIHINGEN (VAI)
State : Baden-Württemberg
Incorporated into : 1973 Ludwigsburg
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1970.
The lion in the upper part of the arms is taken from the arms of the city of Vaihingen. The chequered bar is taken from the arms of the city of Maulbronn. Both the Counts of Vaihingen and the Abbotts of Maulbronn ruled large parts of the district.
The lower part is taken from the arms of the city of Mühlacker, the largest city in the (former) district.
