Origin/meaning
The municipality never had is own arms.
The village adopted arms on March 11, 2020.
Bergheim, first mentioned in 1274, was a longtime possession of the Counts of Hanau until 1809. This is symbolised by the chevrons of Hanau and the gold and red colours.
Bergheim is popularly called "Heckeberkem" (Heckenbergheim) because in ancient times it was surrounded by an impenetrable hedge (Hecke) for protection. The thorny dog rose branch reefers to the hedge. The juniper branch symbolizes the nickname of the Bergheimers as »Hollerklopper«: In the juniper heather above the village people have been knocking the healing berries with sticks from the thorn branches to catch them in towels on the ground.
A red three-mountain in the left field and a typical local half-timbered gable make the coat of arms "Bergheim" canting (Bergheim means Mountain-home).
