DERNBACH
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Marburg-Biedenkopf (until 1973 Biedenkopf)
Incorporated into: 1974 Bad Endbach
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The village did not have arms or seals before 1956, when the present arms were granted. The wavy bar is a canting symbol (Bach=stream), the leaves are taken from the arms of the Lords of Dernbach, who built a castle in 1327, around which the village developed.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
