Origin/meaning
The arms are canting; hage means fence, marsch means moor, bog, which is symbolised by the plants. The village lies just behind the dyke, which means a constant threat of the sea, which is symbolised by the waves.
The blue and golden colours are taken from the arms of the city of Norden.
Literature: Leiner, K.: Panorama Norden. Norden, 1972.
