Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 27, 1915 by King Ludwig III of Bayern.

The upper half shows a linden tree branch, which symbolises the forests in the area. The lower half shows a wavy bar, symbolising water and the spa and baths in the city. The colours of the lower half are those of Bayern.
