HOLZHAUSEN
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Osnabrück
Incorporated into : 1970 Georgsmarienhütte
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1968 and combine elements from the arms of two local noble families. The lion is derived from the arms of the Lords of Varendorff, who founded the local castle in 1280. The family sold the estate to the Von Stael family. The arms of the latter family showed in silver 8 red balls.
