Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 19, 1984.
The main symbol is the nettle-leaf (Nesselblatt), the historical arms of Schaumburg. The miner's tools symbolise the former coal mining in the area. The wheat-ear symbolises the agricultural character of the municipality. The twelve grains symbolise the twelve villages in the Samtgemeinde.
To the Samtgemeinde belong the following municipalities :
- Helpsen
- Hespe
- Nienstädt
- Seggebruch
