WUTÖSCHINGEN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Waldshut
Additions : 1971 Ofteringen; 1975 Degernau, Horheim, Schwerzen
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 21, 1977.
The new arms are based on the previous arms (see below), with five spokes in the wheel, one for each of the municipalities. Each of the villages historically had a water mill, so the symbol was appropriate for all municipalities. The wavy bar in the base of the arms shows the Wutach river.
The old arms were granted in 1906. The arms are based on a shield in the local chapel, with the year 1611. The arms show a water mill wheel, symbolising the local mill, and a plough iron for agriculture. The colours were determined in 1906.
