BODELWITZ

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Saale-Orla Kreis

Wappen von Bodelwitz

Official blazon

In Silber ein goldbewehrter schwarzer Adler.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 9, 1991.

The arms first appear in the 1930s in decorations in the local town hall, but the arms were not officially granted. The eagle most likely is the Prussian eagle, as in the 1930s Bodelwitz was part of Preussen.
