Official blazon
Punatsessa kentässä aaltokoroinen kultahirsi jossa kolme mustaa, soikeaa, kyljiltään sisään päin kaartuvaa rengasta.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 9, 1965.
The bar symbolises the name of the town (lahti = bay). The three rings symbolise the coal formations that are found in the area. It is thought that these were derived from one of the earliest forms of life on earth.
