Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 16, 1927 and again on July 19, 1978..

The arms are identical to those of Grimbergen, as the village belonged to the Estate of Grimbergen until 1764. The seals of the local council dating from the 14th and 16th century thus show the arms of Grimbergen.
