Wappen von Stamsried

Official blazon

In Rot unter einem silbernem Zickzackbalken eine goldene Flachsbreche.

Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the town dates from the 16th century and only shows the name of the town. The above arms show in the upper part a bar, taken from the arms of the Lords of Murach zu Guteneck und Stamsried, who ruled the area until 1585. The lower half shows a tool to break flax for the production on linnen.
