DÖRNIGHEIM AM MAIN
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Main-Kinzig Kreis (until 1973 Hanau)
Incorporated into : 1974 Maintal
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1957.
The E-shaped symbol is the oldest village symbol, which already appeared on the 17th century borderstones of the village. The swan is taken from the crest of the Counts of Hanau, to which the area belonged for many centuries. The wavy base symbolises the Main river.
