State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Urban District (Stadtkreis) : Münster
Amt : Amt Sankt Mauritz
Incorporated into : 1975 Münster

Wappen von Hiltrup

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1965.

The arms show in the upper left corner a solar wheel, derived from the arms of the medieval Sonnborn family. The family had their estate near Hiltrup. The anchor is the symbol of St. Clement, patron saint of the village. The colours are derived from the colours of the State of Münster, to which the village historically belonged.
