State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Paderborn (until 1974 Büren)
Incorporated into : 1975 Lichtenau
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 2, 1908 and are based on the oldest seal of the town, known since 1606.
The arms show a watchtower behind a gate, indicating that the town had already a fortress in the middle of the 13th century.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
