RHEINFELDEN (BADEN)
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Lörrach
Additions : 1921 Warmbach; 1972 Degerfelden, Minseln; 1973 Herten; 1974 Adelhausen, Eichsel; 1975 Karsau, Nordschwaben
Official blazon
(de) In Gold ein roter Löwe, in der linken Vorderpranke eine rote Rose an grünem Stiel mit zwei grünen Blättern haltend.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1912.
The arms are derived from the arms of the Nollingen family, known from seals since the 13th century. The town was called Nollingen until 1922, after the merger with the village of Warmbach.
The new name Rheinfelden was adopted, with the addition of (Baden) to distinguish the new city from the Swiss town with the same name.
