BRAUWEILER
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Erft Kreis (until 1975 Köln)
Incorporated into : 1975 Pulheim
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1927.
The arms are identical to the arms of the Brauweiler Abbey, which were granted to the abbey in 1547 by emperor Karl V. The abbey hardly used the new arms, most often the patron saint, St. Nicholas, was shown on the seals, as has been the custom since the 12th century.
