OFTERSHEIM
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Neckar Kreis (until 19793 Mannheim)
Official blazon
In geteiltem Schild oben von Blau und Silber waagerecht gerautet, unten in Silber eine kriechende grüne Schlange.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1937, but are based on the 17th century seal of the village. The upper half shows the diamonds of the Wittelsbach family, Counts of the Pfalz. Oftersheim belonged to the Pfalz until 1802. The meaning of the snake in the lower half is not known.
