WALDFEUCHT

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Heinsberg (until 1972 Selfkantkreis)

Wappen von Waldfeucht

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 14, 1977.

The area belonged until 1484 to Heinsberg and the oldest seal of Waldfeucht (known since 1355) shows the lion of <a href=h/heinsber|Heinsberg]]. The upper part of the new arms shows this lion. The lower part shows the old village sign, used on border stones etc, in the colours of Jülich. After 1484 the are was part of the Duchy of Jülich.

In the early 20th century the arms below were shown in the Kaffe Hag albums. These arms show basically the same composition, but in the colours of Jülich.
