PIESAU
State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Saalfeld-Rudolstadt
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 22, 1992.
Piesau developed as a village around a glass factory established in the 17th century. The glass jar in the upper part symbolises the factory. The lion is the lion of Thüringen, without the bars. The point shows seven chevrons, symbolising that the municipality consists of seven valleys.
